Click on the area that you want to visit

Easy Weekends helps you to search for weekend getaways anywhere in South Africa, with an exact location in mind using Google Maps.

Zoom in on an area that interests you and see which guest houses, self-catering accommodation or hotels pops up. On the flip side, if you have no idea where you want to go for a weekend getaway, use the map to discover that little farm cottage, mountain lodge or beach house that you never knew existed. It’s also a great office time waster… Good times!

We can also filter the accommodation according to how much you want to spend, be it budget, luxury or somewhere in between. So if you click on the R 201 – R 500 button, it only shows you accommodation in that price bracket on the map.

It’s a great way to find those “off the beaten track” gems.

Cape Winelands

Do you consider yourself a wine connoisseur, or just really like drinking wine? Do you like to couple that with yummy food and out-of-town journey? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then here’s something that we think you might find very appealing… a wine passport!

The passport is a convenient and affordable way to experience the Cape Winelands. It costs R120 but offers R399 in real value. The Cellar Door Collection Passport covers 14 cellar stops, mostly in and around the Cape Winelands, and is valid for a full six months from the date of purchase.

The majority of the cellars are located in the Cape Winelands such as Stellenbosch, Paarl or Simondium, but others are further afield in Tulbagh, Robertson and even Phalaborwa in Limpopo.

The award-winning participants are Nederburg, Le Bonheur, Neethlingshof, Plaisir de Merle, Fleur du Cap, Stellenzicht, Uitkyk, JC le Roux, Alto, Van Ryn's Distillery, Durbanville Hills, Klipdrift Distillery, De Oude Drostdy, and the Amarula Lapa.

The following vouchers are included in each Cellar Door Passport booklet: 4 X Passport Tasting Vouchers (from a selection of 10 Cellar Doors). 4 X Complimentary Tasting Vouchers (available at Amarula Lapa, Drosdty Hof, Klipdrift & Le Bonheur) 1 X Upgrade to a Paired Tasting Voucher (from a selection of 8 Cellar Doors) 6 X Discount Vouchers (R15 off for every R120 spent on wine or spirits) 5 X Complimentary Filter Coffee Vouchers (one for every main meal purchased)

Passport holders are entitled to a combination of eight drinks tastings for the cover price, discount vouchers worth R90 on products purchased from participating cellars, as well as complimentary coffees served in some of the restaurants involved. Several of the establishments also offer tours as part of their cellar door experiences to passport holders.
